Friday- Beatbullying Anthem

A few weeks ago I entered a competition in association with Beatbullying (or the cybermentors charity I am part of.) The name says it all really, the aim is to beat bullying. The competition was to write lyrics to be part of the new charity song. I got an email a few weeks ago saying my lyrics were inspiring and I had been chosen to attend the recording of the song. We were told a special guest would attend and that the day would basically be fantastic.

We travelled to Bromley (54 minutes) after going to school and picking up all my books and chatting to the head etc etc. So when we got there, there were 2 other people waiting (I was expecting a huge amount.) It turned out that no one was expecting the competition winners, but that was ok, as they took us upstairs to join the 6 people from the school who were recording it. It was a huge and beautiful school (mixed which was scary after being in an all girls school for how many years?) When we got upstairs in the proper musicy room, we came up with some ideas for the song, using a very powerful image for our inspiration. Then came US yes US singing >.<... of course I refused to sing. And felt very stupid for doing so. We were called into the recording booth and I didn't sing (I really was not expecting to have to) and they called me out and said it was ok not to etc etc. We then wrote more lyrics and stuff later in the day and the end of the song, I wrote part of and then actually sung it. (in a group of 4) but wow. So now this song will be available for download next week maybe? To promote anti-bullying week. I will probably post a link on here when it is available.

Oh and there was no special guest. But one thing which was good was the general school atmosphere. The staff really interacted with the students and were like friends with them, ate lunch (in the scary, busy, male and female canteen) and had a laugh with them etc.

So basically I doubt anyone will read that but there we go.

Introduction

Well, to be honest I have no idea how this blogging stuff works. I have had a nose around a few people's and it seems to be a good place to just write good or bad things, or to have a rant, which i'm gussing, that is pretty much what a blog does.

I may as well start with a thing about today. All in all it wasn't too bad, although I should have done some work in my free. In film studies my jaw (other side this time) was clicking like loads, but then it died down a bit so that was fine, but now I am home and it has locked. yay, 2 sides. feckin brilliant. To top it off I cannot get through to the maxillofacial (ap?) department secretary, so this should be interesting.

On the other hand I am patiently waiting for Friday to come around, there will probably be a blog about this on the day or saturday.

In the meantime I shall be hopefully enjoying Autumn and trying to do 7 essays in 2 days.

I bet no one reads this, therefore I have just wasted time procrasinating for no obvious reason.
